['jʊərɪs], Leon Marcel, amerikanischer Schriftsteller, * Baltimore (Maryland) 3. 8. 1924; schreibt populäre zeitgeschichtliche Romane, die oft Elemente der politischen Reportage, der historischen Dokumentation und des Melodrams enthalten. Besonders bekannt wurde der Roman »Exodus« (1958; deutsch, verfilmt), der die Gründungsgeschichte des Staates Israel einbezieht.
